About 100 people have died in a massive earthquake that registered a 6.9 on the Richter scale, in the Indonesian island of Lombok. Over 150,000 other people were displaced.
people there still waiting for aid from intergovernmental and governmental organizations to provide food and safe drinking water. A 6.4 magnitude quake that hit the archipelago nation just a week before the most current earthquake struck.
90% of earthquakes occur in the collection of islands rests on the Pacific Ring of Fire. This seismic activity encircles the Pacific Ocean creating oceanic trenches and strings of volcanos. The survey was released by the U.S. Geological Survey. it shows the most recent earthquakes along with the date and strength registered on the Richter scale.
