According to a new poll by Survey Monkey, Americans are heading into 2019 by and large optimistic. 6000 U.S. adults were surveyed on their personal and political prospects for the year ahead. A three-quarter of respondents reported being more hopeful than fearful about their 2019 personal life.
Only about half of respondents reported feeling more hopeful than fearful about what 2019 holds in store for the world at large. Only 43% of respondents predicted a good year for President Trump. The share of respondents who are more hopeful for 2019 are:
76% - More hopeful about personal life,
51% - More hopeful about the world.
The share of respondents who expects a good year for the reasons are:
65% - U.S. economy,
54% - Democrats in Congress,
46% - Rebulicans in Congress,
43% - President Trump.
