According to the National Health Interview Survey, obesity has become more prevalent, rising by about 17 percent. But there has been a 21 percent increase in gym membership among Americans, says the IHRSA Global report.
Fitness trends have caught on over the past decade, in the United States. 1 in 3 Americans eat fast food every day, while about 1 in 10 Americans report eating their recommended amount of fruits and vegetables.
The percentage of change in the select U.S.health indicators between 2007 and 2017 are:
+17% - prevalence of adult obesity,
+21% - Gym Membership,
-23% - Stress level.
