The mobile phone revolution has completely changed our day to lives but also the global economy. According to the data from GSMA, 4.6% of global GDP came from the mobile industry in 2017 which equals to $3.9 trillion whereas $1.6 trillion comes from the APAC region alone.
West Africa accounts 8.7% of the total GDP for the regional dominance similar to Sub-Saharan Africa with 8.6%. The mobile industry accounted for 3.8% of GDP to the global economy in 2014 while GSMA forecasts this to be 4.8% by 2022.
