According to the report published by Obesity Review, India is the country with the unhealthiest packaged food. During the study between 2013 to 2018, the researchers of the University of Oxford tested several packaged food such as cereal, dairy, sweets, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and sauces for the ingredients like sugar, saturated fat, and sodium with their energy density.
On the scale between 0.5 as unhealthiest and 5 as healthiest, out of the 12 countries, India scored the lowest index points of only 2.27.
While being criticized for the contents of their packaged food more frequently than the others, the UK and the U.S. scored around 2.8 points as those are the best among the 12 surveyed countries.
