According to the data from NASA, the average temperature peaked over 2.34°C on July 2019. Since 1880 the winter temperature is significantly below the average of the multiyear reference while the summer temperatures are literally above the average multiyear reference.
The monthly average temperature increased every 20-year period while 2019 broke the record of hottest year ever since the beginning of temperature recorded.
Additionally, 2019 heatwaves also had a strong impact on arctic ice which reached a historic low in July 2019 as it reached the smallest extent compared to every July since 41 years of observations. Continued global warming is also leading to changes the strength, intensity, frequency, spatial extent and duration of extreme weather events.
