Renewable energy is mostly based on sources that cannot and will not be expired. Europe is good at renewables. Renewable energy sources are good for Europe as well. The different types of renewable energy are solar, hydro, Marine, Heat pumps, Geothermal, Biogas, wind, biofuels, and biomass.
The usage of renewables is growing, it was increased to 62% in 8 years. It was used for
17% - Heating and cooling
26% - Electricity
6% - Transport
2020 is the target year for Europe to achieve renewable energy in everything. Europe is on its way to top number 1 in position. Example: Europe has 40% of worlds patents and 40% of wind turbines are built by EU companies.
Renewables are good for Europe in terms of:
Climate action - In 2012, renewables reduce Co2 emissions by 326Mt.
Energy security - EU reduce fuel imports by 30 billion euros.
Jobs - More than 1 million people are working in renewables.
Industry - More than 130 billion euros were earned by EU renewables.
Consumers - There are more than 2,400 renewable energy cooperatives in
europe in 2015.
Trade - EU imports 35 billion euro on renewable technology per year.
Technology - The price of solar panels fell by 80% in just four years.
