An Analysis from MenCare states the average total hours of work done per day paid or unpaid by gender and region. A total of 75 countries were included in the analysis. It shows women work more than men.
There a difference between 'at work' and 'working'. 'working' doesn't entail going to the office, but staying at home as a caregiver. They don't have a financial benefit. This unpaid care can include "meal preparation, cleaning, washing clothes, water, and fuel collection and direct care of persons.
The total amount of time spent working, paid or unpaid, is higher for women than it is for men. it is an almost 50:50 split in East Asia & the Pacific. Because the majority of women's time spent working is unpaid.
